There is an A.P. article in my local paper today about the Somalian Pirates but this time it is a benificial theme.
It seems that fear of the pirates have kept illegal fishing trawlers away from the Kenyan coast and now the local fisherman are able to make a decent living with larger catchs. This is an obvious result of the Pirates preventing corrupt fishing trawler companies from stealing the local harvest.
I do not know if anyone has noticed, but I have never heard of a single life being lost due to the Somalian pirates. Yet, they are being hunted with deadly force.
Do not get me wrong, illegal activity is not to be tolerated. But there is illegal activity in every day life, corruption and financial deceit, that is being tolerated until it is too late to avoid innocent loss.
Are forclosures any better than pirates?
The ancient Chinese YIN and Yang has made another point.
